European Women’s Network

The objectives of the European Women’s Network (EWN) are to develop concrete actions to manage gender diversity (recruiting, retention/development, communication, marketing) in order to re-balance the number of female consultants per rank, to support their career progression, and to share the principle of diversity as a major economic potential for A.T. Kearney.

In 2009 leaders from women’s networks across Europe came together to launch European Women’s Network. The leadership meetings leverage existing activities and share best practices, to create targets and an agenda for change.

We are set this year to find ways to highlight A.T. Kearney’s external efforts related to women's advancement, further develop our role models, and build a pipeline of talented women for senior management. We are measuring progress to our goals of a higher percentage of women in our workforce, and are focusing in 2010 on recruiting more women at all levels, and then our support and development of the women within the firm. We have community events in all countries across Europe, and after a survey of our female team, we are responding to their expressed needs with the development of a new suite of leadership coaching and training events.

On 19 February 2010, the Women’s Consulting Network of Chicago held its first event of the year – an interactive session focused on exploring what it takes to build a fulfilling long-term career. Chicago women engaged in a conversation with A.T. Kearney Partners and external speakers, who shared perspectives on personal and professional networks, work/life balance, and long-term career planning. Among the speakers were Beth Bovis, Laura Gurski, Mary Marttila (A.T. Kearney Alumna and Founder of Mjm and Company), and Nancy Krawczyk (Director of Client Services, Network of Executive Women).

Executive Interviews for Logistics Quarterly
Sue Oaks, an A.T. Kearney partner and member of the Logistics Quarterly Panel for Women in Supply Chain Management, contributed insights to the inaugural Executive Interview Series.

"Women and men face many of the same challenges in supply chain. In my career, it has been important to understand logistics and supply chain issues from the bottom up so that pragmatic and practical recommendations can be developed and then actually implemented."
